Does anyone else have any tanks put together using fake plant? iv just not seem may about.
Providing you get good quality silk plants you should be able to make some relay spectacular tanks without all the dosing and lighting requirements of the real thing.
I my self have ran high tech tanks...
They are grass mats by a company called coopet www.coopet.co.uk :good:. The grass mats do come with awful little yellow flowers that I have removed. The mats are about 8 inches square each and cost £4 at pets at home. My local store as a deal buy 2 get a 3rd free. I recon you could do some...
Haven’t posted in a while as iv been over at ultimate reef playing with my reef tank. After some time looking at my old 125 litre tank i decided to make a new tropical tank.
So I wanted a tank that that was easy to run with minimal costs and effort. SO I decided to go for fake plants.
Here...
The coating of acrylic is to give the sand that black colour. All coloured gravel (particularly the neon stuff) is the same to some extent. Although some methods can vary, such as using resin or vinyl as apposed to acrylic.
The only problem with the stuff is its coating is quite thin. Give...
I have 2 fancy goldfish free to a good home if they are wanted.
Bought by my mother a year ago from pets at home for £2.50. They are now about 4 inches so the will need a large tank. I currently have them in a 100Gal tank with 22 gal filter sump. Ill get pitches in the morning.
Tank will...
Can you get anaerobic conditions running in a freshwater tank similar to how a deep sand bed works within marine tanks?
I'm aware of the toxic chemicals that this process can give off but if you contain the reactions with in a sump can this be done.
Second thing is can this be done of...
The best thing to do is drill the tank and fit a bulkhead. This is the easiest and most reliable way of plumbing the tank. I am currently setting up a marine tank and this is the method i am using.
Alternatively you can use an overflow box. Which is just like a syphon. Eg...
OK.
Thanks for the help :good:
edit to add. what about the Eheim 1262. I intend on having a fuge/DSB in my sump aw well. Will this pump at 3600lph be two powerful and produce to much flow for that sort of setup.
I was going to use a Eheim 1260 pump. On about a 20-30 gallon sump. Does that sound about right?
Tanks is in the planning stages at the moment and i'm scouting for equipment. I have the 100g tank and a v400 skimmer so far.
Next on the shopping list two nano Tunze 6025 pumps. I'm going to...
I'm just started gather my equipment to make my 100g Reef tank.
Just want to know peoples opinions on the above device. Seems like a good little device to get turbulent water movement in a tank. Without using electricity as well or expensive wave makers.
Thanks :good:
Can a mod move this...
yes that is what it is like. they don't lock lips much. Just nudge each other mainly.
But last night after feeding they started charging each other across the tank and nudging each other about.
Ill see if the LFS will take one back. Ain't got any money to get a tank divider at the moment...
From my observations it does not seem to be that the fish are defending one area of the tank.
Some of the time the all just shoal together and get along.
I always feed them at on end of the tank using a feeding loop so i would assume if territorial fights where to happen it would be over that...
Iv got 3 angel fish in a 450l tank. They have been in there about 6 months now and all was good.
I bought them when they where only 1 inch tall. In the 6 months I have had them all 2 have grown to about 5 inches and the other has reached about 4.
They where all ok until last week I noticed...
