    Types Of Arowana?

"Minimum tanks size for this fish (though very debatable) should be no less than 270 (6ftx3ftx2ft) gallons for a single arowana. For this fish to live comfortably, grow and live to its FULL potential however, A 478 gal (8ft x 4ft x2ft ) would be the ideal tank size for LIFE (this is of great...

    Betta In A Vase

they've been around for a while...it seems the betta eats the small microorganisms that live off the roots of the plants. It wouldn't be that cruel if they gave it some real food, and maybe some filtration. I keep my betta in a large vase(only temporary cycling my 10 gall for him :)) with a lot...

    Plec's

if ti is a common plec the current tank size is a tad small, they get fairly large and require over 55 gallons. if you want plecs I would get 2 bristlenose plecos instead. they get much smaller and are easy to breed as well.

So I'm Going To Get Pygmy Cories....

I have a spare 10 gallon aquarium and its currently being used as a grow out tank for my platy fry untill I move them to my other aquarium. I want to make this into a species tank for pygmy cories and maybe a betta. but there are a few questions that I have what type of substrate should I use...

    My First Tank

my advice on the stocking would be 5 neon teteras 3-4 pygmy cories a small school of pygmy hatchet fish for some top dwellers. that is a beautiful setup btw could you post which plants they are and which camera are you using?

New Fish Owner, I Have Some Questions!

first do a fishless cycle or get 3 guppies or platys and let your tank cycle through before you add any other fish. I don't think the angel and the ram would work in your tank( not sure on the ram though) after about a month or so you can start adding a few new fish, a small school of tetras...

    Quick Breeders And Good Feeders...

try convicts those are pretty easy to breed, you could also have a ton of rosy reds in a 40 gall and hope they breed. but convicts or a livebearer would be my choice, but make sure to gut load the fish before you feed them to your SALF

    Possible Parasite Infection?

so let me tell you the baiscs. tank size is 10 gallons, stocked with 9 platys and 1 bettea( I know its a bit overstocked but I got a second 10 gallon for 5 of the platys.) I currently can not get the nitrates, ammonia or nitrites, as I ran out of tests a few days back and currently have night...

    Goodbye Pleco, Hello Ottos

from what I've heard ottos are hard to keep and often starve from the stress of moving and are a little picky at first. you might be better off with a few small BN plecs in that aquarium.
