My interest of fish stemmed from my wish to have a pet, something which was my own, something not for the family to share, some responsibility. Having an ideal birthday coming up, I decided to ask for a 'budget' hexagonal fish tank.

Back then however, I knew nothing about the 'Nitrogen Cycle', nor even the point of a filter! As you can guess, the 'Black Moor Goldfish' I bought died a few weeks after. This then deterred me from any more fish for a couple of years.

Obviously if I wanted to get any pet, I'd really have to 'push the boat out'. I had to do my research - Big time. While doing this I then discovered the true needs of fish, and the fact that no matter how much I'd like - They all need filters!

Anywho, I then 'took the plunge' and done a quick search on the great Ebay for local fish tanks on offer. Here I found my small, tropical, 42 litre tank hooked up with all the needed equipment - Fit for a small 'Siamese Fighter Fish' and 6 'Celestial Pearl Danios'

But this was still not enough... I then began drawing up a monstrous design (from the floor to the ceiling). A stand with a cupboard, aquarium and vivarium. The total amount of litres it held: 222 litres...

Which then brings this up to now...
