Fairly new to this hobby, I am here looking for new information, research, and recommendations. Working with a planted 29 gallon tank, sand substrate, driftwood, lava rock, and several tunnel decor. Adjustable heater, and HOB filtration. Using a gentle air stone. I feed my Cory catfish pellets and frozen blood worms, with an algae wafer once a week. My betta mainly eats frozen brine shrimp, frozen blood worms and nibbles at the catfish pellets. Water parameters are pretty good. Working with a PH of 7.4, 0ppm ammonia, 0ppm nitrites, and 10-30 nitrates. My family and I have become very passionate about our aquatic pets and we are doing as much research as possible to ensure our creatures have a wonderful life. We are currently in the process of switching from disposable cartridges in our filter to a better natural filtration. Using sponge, ceramic bio rings, and filter floss pads. I actually quite enjoy caring for our tank. Even doing weekly water changes is sort of therapeutic to me. I love seeing how happy our little guys get when they get some fresh water. We live in Texas and this hobby has been perfect for us because it keeps us indoors out of the Texas heat!
we love Pokémon, Star Wars, Marvel, Harry Potter, ect! I have been married for 5 years (together for 12) and we have a 4 year old daughter named Harper. We enjoy going to the movies, races, the zoo, carnivals and obviously the aquarium! This hobby has become a wonderful bonding experience for my family and I, I definitely don’t see us stopping any time soon. If anything it may get a. Little more out of hand!
although with this hobby that’s pretty easy to do!
