When a fish dies, is it best to leave it in the water and let the other fish feed on it or does it just make the water poisenous and better to clean it?

I have a community tank which is getting a bit of algae now, i used to have a few amano shrimp, but they seemed to have dissapeared, so i was wondering if i could get a bristlenose plec even though i have 2 afd frogs, are they ok together? my substrate is sand...... do bristlenoses eat both...

Hi i have a couple of ADF's in a community tank with 3 bettas, 5 glow light tetras and a couple of amano shrimp, well when it comes to feeding time the fish just go for the food but the frogs hang around staring at it, staring at the other fish pinching the bit that is before their nose..lol...

ok thank you, next time i get some trout in i will keep a bit on the side for them , makes a nice treat :)

I have been using glow light tetras to cycle my tank with.... the bettas have never bothered them nor they them......

PH = 7.5 ammonia = 0 Nitrite = 0.3ppm Nitrate = 10ppm The tank does just smells of "freshly turned eath" i think someone described it as. If i lift the hood up. I dunno i have never entered someones house being aware of the smell of their fishtank so im not sure why mine is smelling, could it...

The other day i was making some rainbow trout for dinner and i had to chop the head and tail off and i was thinking what a waste of meat really..... could one put a few small pieces/slivers of fresh uncooked trout in the tank for the bettas and frogs and tetras to eat ???? Would that be harmful...

Hi just wondering if the fish tank should smell a bit, when i come downstairs into the lounge where the tank is or if i come in from outside the room the tank is in is quite smelly, its not even a fish smell, its more like a pond/river smell.... there are no dead fish, im about a 45% water...

If your going to go for artificial plants make sure they are silk, not plastic. Bettas like to rest "lay" on plants so get one that has a broad leaf to it rather than only ferny or spindly like ones (if you know what i mean) An african dwarf frog should not be alone. I personally dont think it...

Is another way of telling, by how it flares if the flaps go under the head? Im going to try to get a better picture
