I've put in the substrate, drift wood, and the water in!
I also went shopping today and bought some very nice driftwood, expensive but i think it looks really

well, im just about ready to start my 5 foot tank again. Going to get some fresh gravel and substrate today.
In the meantime, i thoght i would enter my 3 foot tank in the TOTM november competition just for lols.

at the moment, in my temporary 3 foot, im running 2 internal fluvals to cope with the overstocking as im cleaning out the 5 foot.
They are coping really well though.
yes i would recommend a low tech setup as well. ie, low lighting, some very low light requirement plants (anubias etc)and take it from there.
Its all balance. If you can get the balance right, your on your way.
yeah just leave them, they will grow into new plants, with roots etc and eventually the runners themselves will just detach themselves.
just keep them underwater, and try and get them close to the gravel so when the roots grow they can start rooting.
I had around 10-12 new plants sprout from 2...

actually i was a bit hesitant before i pulled it down, its soo much work, but now just seeing the tank
just sitting there empty and ready to go is extremely inspiring and i now cant wait to get it going again.
Starting a fresh tank is just great with an unlimited wasy...
